MONROE YOUTH BASEBALL ASSOCIATION

2024  REGISTRATION INFORMATON

It’s baseball season! MYBA is getting ready for another baseball season.

Registration is now under way for the Monroe Youth Baseball Association (MYBA) baseball program for boys ages 4 through 14.  We need you to sign up now, without delay, so that we can set up the different leagues appropriately, get the coaches lined up, and assess our numbers in each age category.

The cost for each league is listed on the schedule shown below along with tryout schedules.  For those with more than one child playing, a separate registration form needs to be filled out for each player.  There is TEN DOLLAR ($10) reduction in the registration fee for each additional player after the first from the same family.

Each player needs a copy of his birth certificate on file with the MYBA.  If a copy has been turned in previously, it is not necessary to provide another one this year.

When filling out the registration form, be very careful and complete (full name with name preferred underlined).  Player’s age is that age attained prior to May 1, 2024 (his actual age on April 30, 2024).  For instance, if a boy turns 12 on April 30, 2024, his league age is 12, but, if he turns 12 on May 1, 2024, his league age is 11.  These age rules are mandated by the national organizations and no exceptions can be made.

T-ball (4-5) will not have a draft but will instead assign players by neighborhood as close as possible.

Junior Ball (6 Year Olds Only) will be assigned to a team without a draft.   This league will help players develop baseball skills on regular playing fields.  A transition of T-Ball to Standard Baseball.

Coach Pitch (7- 8), Dixie Minor (9-10), Dixie Youth (11-12), and Dixie Boys (13-14):  All boys changing into these leagues (moving up to the next league or joining our league) will be drafted on a new team.  They must attend a minimum of two tryouts.

As in the past, MYBA will have teams participate in All-Star competition.  Selections are done at the end of the season.  Players are voted on by a blind ballot by the coaches in the league.  Every attempt is made to have this selection process be as fair as possible; but only a limited number of players can be selected.  We will have an additional fee for selected all-star players to help cover the additional expenses of all-stars.  All Coaches and players that are eligible for All-Stars and selected to represent Monroe must be committed to all practices, pre-games, and tournaments until the all-star season is over.

Anyone interested in coaching, sponsoring a team or being considered for a place on the MYBA Board should send a letter of request to MYBA at the above address.   Please include a short list of your experience and qualifications.
